Acne vulgaris (AV) is the most common and multifactorial skin disease in adolescents affecting pilosebaceous unit that involves hormonal imbalance, increased sebum production, bacterial colonization, which causes both physical psychological disorders. Cutibacterium acnes considered one of key contributing factors even though many colonies are on healthy skin. induces lipogenesis production sebum. Through its porphyrins, it may act as a catalytic agent squalene oxidation comedogenic, thus aggravating comedogenesis. We review dual role to provide an understanding pathophysiology acne vulgaris.
